Holby Monitor

General Description
The HolbyMonitor tracks domestic hot water temperatures continuously.
The HolbyMonitor continuously monitors and displays the cold, hot and tempered hot water temperatures and transmits an ALERT message if any water temperature exceeds custom-selected temperature limits. ALERT messaging can be sent to multiple recipients via text message and/or email.
Monitoring the tempering valve outlet water temperature is important. However, monitoring the cold and hot water inlet temperatures provides valuable information about the overall domestic hot water system. This information enables detection of a failed hot water recirculation pump, overheated cold water lines, and failed boilers and hot water heaters.
The basic system includes two devices; a Base Station and at least one Temperature Transmitter (node). The node monitors the hot, cold and tempered water temperatures continuously and communicates wirelessly with the Base Station.
The Base Station monitors the information it receives from the node and compares the information to the custom-defined limits. If any limit is exceed an email and/or text message can be sent to the Primary Contact and Additional Contacts.
Quick start document
Setup Base Station
Box Contains:

Connect to the internet. We recommend a wired Ethernet connection plugged into the right side of the Base Station.
Optional Wi-Fi Connection: If the site does not have a wired connection available, the Base Station can connect to the internet using a 300Mbps Wireless-N USB Adapter with Antenna (sold separately) inserted into a USB slot on the right side of the Base Station. Go to the “Connect to Wi-Fi” section for details. A Wi-Fi connection would replace the need for an Ethernet cable. Note: Only secured Wi-Fi can be used.
Setup Node
Box Contains:

Install Node
The node can be wall-mounted or strapped to the Cold water supply pipe near the Holby Tempering Valve.
IMPORTANT: ALL SENSORS MUST HAVE DIRECT CONTACT WITH THE COPPER PIPES.
Secure the BLUE sensor to the COLD water supply pipe with a hose clamp, available from Holby Valve.
NOTE: Attach sensor between the Holby Tempering Valve and the point where the recirculating and cold water are mixed.
